Third in a trilogy[edit]

What makes this the third in a trilogy inaugurated by The Root Cellar (1981)? This article doesn't indicate any timeslip between the 1770s setting for the historical fiction and the present day. --Although the titles considered together do hint that the hollow tree like the root cellar may be a portal. --P64 (talk) 00:40, 7 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. Second in the purported trilogy, Shadow in Hawthorn Bay (1986) was the most celebrated if not the most popular. It, or Janet Lunn for that work, won the Canada Council prize for English-language children's book writing (now a Governor General's Award) and both the Canadian Library Association awards for children's and young-adult books. --P64 (talk) 00:43, 7 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
