Cleanup and expansion[edit]

Although this article is generally well-written, I started a cleanup and general rewording, especially in the final paragraph. This article (and all the other Hornblower novel articles, for that matter) could use a little more attention. See my post on the Horatio Hornblower talk page. Please help if you are able.
