Nudity[edit]

Ssilvers, I probably should have footnoted that "nude drama" quote better, but it was a quote from one of the anti-burleseque screeds of the time! Probably needs more context, as didn't literally mean nude, they were talking about the tights. Lastly is The Forty Thieves (1869 play) the best title here? I hemmed and hawed on using "play", please move if you think there's a better title. Any mention of nudity here would be misleading, I think. You seem to be conflating Victorian burlesque, which the Blondes brought over from England, with American Burlesque. -- Ssilvers (talk) 06:02, 15 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • I wasn't confused, but I see where you were coming from! If i get a chance, I'll track down the original sources attacking the show, and expand that way.
