We're not trying to create a highly-compressed mess[edit]

For the avoidance of doubt, the great majority of Wikipedia editors are, or claim to be, humans. We humans find that things that are neatly laid out and suitably spaced apart are easier to read, easier to check, and easier to correct or extend, i.e. to edit. Compression may make life easier for computers and those from planet Vulcan (who knows, but until editing is fully-automated, spaces are useful, and I shall be happy to insist upon them.
