Did You Know
A fact from this article appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the "Did you know?" column on August 8, 2011.
The text of the entry was: Did you know ... that the post-hardcore album The Drug in Me Is You by Falling In Reverse contains a hip-hop beat sample created by Dr. Dre and Eminem?

Genre[edit]

According to the file information on each song (when downloaded from iTunes) the album is "pop punk". Of course no one would argue that it's also post-hardcore, but metalcore? That's a huge stretch. Let's stick to referenced/undisputed information please. --♫ Chris-B-Koolio ♫ ... (Talk) 17:31, 6 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

So itunes is the Deciding Factor on what Genre this Album is? i think not, "Goodbye Gracefull" and "don't Mess with Ouija Boards" are far from pop punk. and are pretty much Metalcore. so yeah, Metalcore is going back on. Check your stuff before you change stuff. Me and Groundzero put a lot of work into getting this band into the mainspace, dont mess it up.--Kygora 17:42, 6 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not "messing" anything up. You can't just add genres that aren't referenced. Simple as that. And those two songs you mentioned ARE heavy, you're right; but just find a reference for metalcore. Actually, I'll help and find one for you. --♫ Chris-B-Koolio ♫ ... (Talk) 18:00, 6 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
References do not belong in infoboxes or intro paragraphs, otherwise there would be a citation for the genres. There are plenty of sources confirming all of these genres. GroundZ3R0 002 18:14, 6 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Plenty? Really? I've yet to see a single reliable source for alternative metal. Post-hardcore, pop punk, metalcore are all sourced, though, you're right. So that's sufficient for the infobox. The album is NOT alternative metal. --♫ Chris-B-Koolio ♫ ... (Talk) 18:35, 6 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia isn't based on opinion, it's based on reliable references. Some kid could say "hey, I think this sounds like technical death metal! I'll add that to the infobox!" Well, OBVIOUSLY it would be removed. Just because any Wikipedia user claims that an album reflects a particular genre isn't enough. All decisions about this album's genres should be made based on references. --♫ Chris-B-Koolio ♫ ... (Talk) 18:40, 6 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
There aren't any references for alternative metal because this band and album IS NOT alternative metal. Someone apparently is trying to use this link to support alternative metal. "Alternative Albums" is an award granted by Billboard to albums of a VARIETY of genres. The link NEVER says ANYTHING about alternative metal. It mentions a host of other artists. Are you saying that ALL of those are somehow alternative metal because they won the "Alternative Album" award? Is Bon Iver alternative metal too? Give me a break... --♫ Chris-B-Koolio ♫ ... (Talk) 18:54, 6 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
References should not be placed in infoboxes, but genres placed in infoboxes should be referenced ones, not just ones that a handful of users decide on based on opinion. --♫ Chris-B-Koolio ♫ ... (Talk) 19:01, 6 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The decision was not based upon opinion. I do agree, however, that the three genres there are sufficient to describe the album and band. The alternative metal genre is not predominant enough to earn alot of mention in reliable sources, though sources do list it. As such, I believe the best way to end this edit war is to remove alternative metal as a genre and leave the other three unsourced in the infobox. GroundZ3R0 002 19:12, 6 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
