Mother Pelageya is NOT Sister Pelagiya[edit]

Factual mistake in the original article. Mother Pelageya mentioned in this novel cannot be Sister Pelagiya. The Sister Pelagiya stories take place in the late 1890s or early 1900s (there are numerous clues pointing to this timeframe) and Pelagiya is 32 years old. In 1882, therefore, she would be about 14 and would not even be a nun, forget a head nun. Besides Mother Pelageya's character obviously does not fit Sister Pelagiya's. To say nothing of the name difference. Sister Pelagiya's fictional universe is clearly separate from Fandorin's. For instance, general Skobelev is referred by his real name in the Pelagiya books, but in Fandorin books he is Sobolev.
