Plot[edit]

I'm not sure it's entirely fair to just link to the original game's article for the plot. Rebirth adds some new elements in the form of new endings, characters, and a whole new level. I also don't think it would be entirely inappropriate to include some of the community's speculations about the true meanings of the story, though of course we would have to mention the fact that those things are speculation. I guess I'll try to do it myself if no one else wants to, but it would be cool if someone with a good grasp on the lore did it. Trevor1324 (talk) 04:36, 9 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Community speculation inherently would need to be scrutinized - in order for it to be mentioned, there would need to be a fair few reliable secondary sources that are discussing specific instances of speculation. The sources could otherwise be used to verify a statement such as "players have collaborated and speculated upon the plot and meaning of The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth", if sources for such a statement exist. - New Age Retro Hippie (talk) (contributions) 21:50, 9 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I think the story is now fairly clear upon the release of the new Repentance DLC. I've updated the plot to reflect this. Kettleonwater (talk) 21:10, 27 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A note on Repentance[edit]

People seeing footage of "The Binding of Isaac Repentance" from PAX are pretty much assured that this is the Antibirth mod officially brought into the game. However, I have yet to see a source that 100% confirms that. Once there is one, we can then add that. --Masem (t) 05:54, 1 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Look up Edmund and Nicalis' twitter accounts. They pretty told that Antibirth is official as Repentance.

We have better sources now. However, it's still important for readers to be aware that Antibirth has become official via Repentance. --Masem (t) 03:47, 4 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
