Winner-related vandalism[edit]

Following the conclusion of the last episode, it would be great if a well-versed editor could cleanup the page. Several edits have been made to the article, most of which constitute as vandalism. --TheCaliforniaKansan (talk) 05:20, 21 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Bachelorette's occupation[edit]

The Bachelorette has had several jobs in her career. After working her way up in BMW from sales to finance & insurance, she left the company in June 2014 to appear on season 2 of The Bachelor Australia, which she won.

Her most recent listed occupation is "marketing co-ordinator" for a magazine promoting the Mornington Peninsula.^[1] DrX au (talk) 00:38, 25 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I have found a source which supports your claim. As such, I have removed the two previous sources and replaced them with the new one. I have also removed the LinkedIn reference you included, as LinkedIn is a social media service and as such is an unreliable source. Without trying to create an argument, according to WP:SELFPUB, "self-published and questionable sources may be used as sources of information about themselves" under certain conditions. I can't see how a journo looking up your social media pages and publishing the info found there is more reliable than the original user-edited pages. That is what passes for "journalism" these days. You are correct that some things (i.e. someone's occupation) can be referenced by social media according to Wikipedia's guidelines, and you are also right that newspapers and websites are not as reliable as they once were. However, I have always just used the rule of thumb that unless it is a popular website or a newspaper I do not cite it. I apologise if I was rude.
