status of cluster[edit]

The article describes this cluster as "belonging to the" Milky way, which isn't very helpful. Is it a part of the MW? does it orbit it? One imagines that more precise terminology or an explanation would be useful.--Piledhigheranddeeper (talk) 18:01, 9 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I added some information. Ruslik_Zero 19:35, 9 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Third stellar population[edit]

New paper on arXiv [1] - yet more complications to figure out in the history of Terzan 5. Does it really make sense to call it a globular cluster in this article, the paper hedges its bets by terming it a "stellar system" instead. (Probably the same issue is also relevant to Omega Centauri.) 77.56.98.68 (talk) 21:58, 9 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Any stellar cluster is a stellar system and the majority papers still call it globular cluster. Ruslik_Zero 18:20, 10 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
