Needs more precise defining of terms[edit]

I have read the entire article and I have no idea what a tenaille is. The provided picture is not adequately labelled - is the tenaille the chevron between the two outcroppings, or the outcroppings themselves? What exactly is the utility of a tenaille in siegecraft?
