Read-Along Adaptations[edit]

I've noticed that this article along with other Ninja Turtle webpages that talks about this series give no mention about the three read-along adaptations that were put out on audio cassette by Random House publishing from 1989-1990 that featured an uncredited voice cast. The three were the three part "Heroes In a Half-Shell!" story which was merged into one book that was broken into five chapters retitled as "Heroes In a Half-Shell!: The Complete Adventure!". Second was "Return of the Shredder", and the final book was "Intergalactic Wrestling and Other Adventures" which was made up "Of Turtles and Stones and Mary Bones", "Intergalactic Wrestling", and "Wild Things".

There was also a fourth read-along tape but this was adaptation of the two mini book adaptations of the first film which was "The First Battle" and "The Final Lesson". Sarujo (talk) 05:06, 15 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I added your info into the article. Thanks for bringing it up. Cale (talk) 04:24, 17 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Archie Comics)Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures — The proper name of this series. This was the original title of the article, until it was moved without discussion, using an improper copy/paste move. Assistance needed, due to redirect from previous move. oknazevad (talk) 01:47, 6 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Survey[edit]

Feel free to state your position on the renaming proposal by beginning a new line in this section with *'''Support''' or *'''Oppose''', then sign your comment with ~~~~. Since polling is not a substitute for discussion, please explain your reasons, taking into account Wikipedia's naming conventions.

Support as nom. Also, the previous move, which was claimed as being done to follow naming conventions, actually doesn't, as the comics naming convention states to only use the publisher's name when the titles of two or more series are identicle, but the title is unique, as the Mirage series doesn't have "Adventures" as part of the tilte. oknazevad (talk) 22:41, 6 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Neutral: However copy/paste is not "illegal", per se, and anyone can move an article without discussion. Also, the Mirage article is entitled Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Mirage Studios). That said, the title should probably reflect the name used in the comics which was indeed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures. DAB header should be added if changed back. Notice that the DAB page has said "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Archie Comics)" since its creation so the "original" name of this article is hard to determine. The problem with copy/paste moves is they don't preserve the edit history, which is needed to comply with the GFDL (and an examination of which indeed shows that this article was originally at Adventures). As for the (Mirage Comics) disambiguator on that page, that's to dab between the article about the series and the main article at Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Such a dab isn't needed here, as the series title includes "Adventures", thereby self-disambiguating. oknazevad (talk) 21:40, 7 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support: The claim was at the time the use of Adventures in the heading was comic guidline violation. Yet, the comic guideline doesn't stated the word Adventures can't be used in a heading. It only the use of prefixes like The in such titles as The Fantastic Four. Adventures in a title is not same thing as The in a title. It is important to point out the Adventures is only utilized when a comic within the cannon of television adaptation of an already existing comic book series. Case in point The Batman Adventures, Adventures of the Mask, X-Men Adventures, and Adventures of Spider-Man just o name a few. Sarujo (talk) 18:08, 7 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion[edit]

I've tagged this for history merge to get it in one place, without prejudice to the move itself. 81.110.104.91 (talk) 16:56, 6 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
