Historical note: Although not marked as such in the edit history, the anonymous contributor's block of additions on the 4-5 March 2005 consist largely of material taken from the Teen Titans article. --Paul A 01:52, 9 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Character Divisions

The classification with "The Teen Titans" and "Major Villains" has a bit of problem, with Terra's alignment being left to interpretation. Putting both in "Major Characters" makes this a lot less of a problem. This is getting extremely annoying, whoever keeps insisting on this, will you please stop?

And a whole H.I.V.E. (Formerly the H.A.E.Y.P.) Academy section seems a bit iffy, but with more Hive students coming up later in Season 4, guess it will work.---SA-

I was just about to do what InShaneee just contributed, stripping away the episode list and putting the character divisions back. One, the episode list has to go, because it is actually listed as an article elsewhere, as InShaneee pointed out in an earlier edit. As for the character divisions, it's important that there be a way to distinguish the primary titans from the rest of the characters. If someone wanted to know who the Teen Titans were, what would you say? Where would they look? The high five, Teen Titans only heading seems to communicate that the best. As for Terra... Well, she's not a Teen Titan. Her alliance doesn't matter, she's not one of the big five. --Htmlism 04:44, 24 Mar 2005 (UTC)

  • I've put a note by Terra. I hope that calms things down. --InShaneee 04:47, 24 Mar 2005 (UTC)
  • Terra had more communication with the team in her five episodes then Raven did in all of Season one. I think she deserves some mention on there. Let's just list her one both with the note. Truce? -SA-
    • Alright, you have a point. However, duplicating content isn't acceptable. Let's find a consensus, alright? I propose we list her as a major villain with the note "Also a member of the Titans for a time". Discuss. --InShaneee 18:01, 24 Mar 2005 (UTC)
      • Will work. I'll go ahead an do so. -SA-

Renaming?

Would it make more sense to rename this article "Teen Titans (animated series)"? After all, this suggests to me that the series's name is Teen Titans the Animated Series, rather than just Teen Titans. The Justice League article has "(animated series)" at the end of it. I'm not going to change it, though, unless other people agree to it. KramarDanIkabu 19:36, 22 Mar 2005 (UTC)

I'd like to second the motion. Since I don't know how to go about renaming a page... If anyone does, I say go for it. --Htmlism 04:33, 23 Mar 2005 (UTC)

I found out how to do it and did it. Power to the people. --Htmlism 04:38, 23 Mar 2005 (UTC)

FLCL

The article says: Most common are references to Battle of the Planets and FLCL, the latter of which heavily influenced the series (as proven by animation style and aforementioned references). What are these references to FLCL? I have not seen one example in the show to suggest that it was influenced by FLCL. Also, the article says the claim is supported by aforementioned references, but not one of the "aforementioned references" suggests a thing about FLCL. Could someone clarify?

First off, there's Beast Boy's fixation with mopeds, Haruhara Haruko's mode of transportation. There's then the whole episode Fractured, and the animation style seems to draw heavily on FLCL.

No way, FLCL could be assumed. There is no real proof to this. FLCL is such a good show to zone out to though, I will admit that as proof. I wouldn't suggest beastboy's attachment to the moped as something related to FLCL. I would think of it more of an episode that was crappy, and based on beastboy because he didn't have many tribute episodes to himself. --Cyberman 02:22, 12 July 2005 (UTC)

Relationships

Okay we have Robin x Starfire, Beast Boy x Raven, and Bumblebee x Cyborg x Jinx. But what about Cyborg and Sarasym from Cyborg the Barbarian and that soap opera girl in Episode ###-###. Should those be added

  • I'm curious to see what others think, but I do think it might be worth mentioning, especially due to the fact that in the comics, Cyborg was dating a teacher named Sarah Simms. --InShaneee 14:16, 19 May 2005 (UTC)
    • BB x Raven and Cyborg x Bumblebee aren't officially supported. While there is reason for some people to suspect them, remember that some people also pair up Robin and Raven. The Cyborg x Jinx ship has sailed - it was one shot gag. I think we're best sticking just with Robin x Starfire, seeing as how its the only one the people wokring on it will acknowledge. -SA-

Much ado seems to be made about romantic character relationships in this wiki and it appears to be a source of constant revisions. However much of it is fan speculation as the show really doesn't focus on romantic aspects of the characters most of the time. This is not a soap opera. I doubt that it ever will delve into this area as much as the original comic book did. I question the appropriateness of including this informataion in the wiki as it is mostly fan speculation (or wishful thinking). Perhaps it would be more appropriate in a section about fan fiction, of which there is much on the internet. --malber 16:59, 8 August 2005 (UTC)

Animation Company Divisions

OK, it's understandable that with conglomerates like Time Warner, it's tough to figure lines of division between subsidiaries. Plus the fact that very soon, they're going to realign the cartoon shows so that those based on DC Comics will have its own special branding [[1]], but Teen Titans was never branded Hanna-Barbera/Cartoon Network Studio show, but rather a Warner Bros Animation show. I think the category list should be revised to reflect this. -- SterlingNorth 06:05, 20 May 2005 (UTC)

  • I think you should look more closely at the closing credits. This show was produced for Cartoon Network and was first shown on it. --malber 17:01, 8 August 2005 (UTC)

About cyborg/Jinx... According to the show staff, it actually hasnt sailed quite yet. They useing the pairing in a TTG issue to see the reaction.

Current Show Talk

Would you say that Raven manipulated the Teen Titans into actually fighting Trigon for her? I understand at the last moment she became stupid and bipolar and decided to let Trigon awaken. I don't know why Rachel Roth did that though. I see some similarities between teen titans the show and the comic book but when it comes to Trigon, something that has been building up, I see many differences. Plus I haven't seen the introduction of Kid Flash, if I do see such the entrance of this character I would say that this show closes a similarity between comic and cartoon series. But there was no intended manipulation or obvious manipulation of the titans. I believe in the comic she asked for help, in this series, she just let it happen.... --Cyberman 02:26, 12 July 2005 (UTC)

  • I'd say since there's no real evidence that she manipulated them, just nuke it (though I think you did already). --InShaneee 15:55, 13 July 2005 (UTC)

Character Images

Those images are huge. Should they be dropped or resized? JRP

I think they should just be dropped, the general rule of thumb on tv shows is one cast shot, maybe one or two other shots if warranted and that's it, I think that the shots clutter it up to much. Jtkiefer | Talk | Contribs | Email -- 04:16, July 24, 2005 (UTC)

Cyborg's Weapon Foreshadowing

There was on thing that got me disappointed. Remember when Cyborg went to the H.I.V.E. Academy as Stone and in the end got an Ion Amplifier from Brother Blood, and later acquired the Max-7 Computer Chip in the series? Well when Slade and his armies of Trigon almost invaded the Tower and the Titans were protecting Raven inside it, and the thing that got my blood boiling was that just as he turned into a human Ion Cannon that blasted Slade's infernal minions to ashes, WHY DIDN'T HE USE THE COMPUTER CHIP AND THE AMPLIFIER AT THE SAME TIME?!?! That could've been a highly-devastating weapon that would've injured Slade altogether! He had a chance to modify himself with the chip and the amplifier and he didn't use them! --Seishirou Sakurazuka 02:11, July 28, 2005 (UTC)

Gettin' messy

Somebody needs to sit down and do a little housecleaning sometime soon, as the sections are badly bleeding into one another (namely the top two) to the point where all focus is being lost. Additionally, some questionable (for a number of reasons) references have been added in recently, and also, I think we need to reign in the amount of 'fan' content in the article. --InShaneee 03:01, 30 July 2005 (UTC)

  • At the very least, get rid of the 'shipping bullshit. Such things are called grasping at straws for a children's show and shouldn't be on Wikipedia. --Apostrophe 01:10, 2 September 2005 (UTC)

No! It has to stay! --User:Angie Y.

  • Little else than piteously pleading to keep the status quo doesn't really inspire any progress in this discussion, Angie. -Apostrophe 01:53, 2 September 2005 (UTC)

Cast Image

The Infobox is nice and the image is good. However the image below it skews the formatting of the first section on 1024x768 resolution monitors with the browser maximized. Only one cast image is necessary. I think someone should decide which one should be kept and which one should be discarded. Both are good, so I can't decide. --malber 12:52, 28 September 2005 (UTC)

I vote we keep the dvd cover, since that seems to be the trend at other articles. --InShaneee 14:58, 28 September 2005 (UTC)
Moved the 2nd cast image to the Characters section and resized it to 250px. I think a second image is good in an article about an animated TV series. It fits more in the section about the characters. --malber 20:29, 30 September 2005 (UTC)

Other Villains

Because the show typically follows the villain of the week format, this section can get lengthy with each new episode typically introducing a villain that will rarely be seen again. I suggest that this section be archived to a list of minor villains appearing in the show. --malber 15:03, 4 October 2005 (UTC)

Criticism/Public Reaction

This section needs citation. Who are the "some" or "many" fans that object to the animation style? This section borders on POV.--malber 15:08, 11 October 2005 (UTC)

The section was there when I cleaned it and I tried to tone it down. I think there are a lot of people who we could get to say, but you're right, we do need more source. KramarDanIkabu (talk) 15:57, 11 October 2005 (UTC)
While we're discussing it, I'd just like to say that for the moment (or in the absence of citation), I think I, for one, would be more comfortable with "some" there. --InShaneee 16:42, 11 October 2005 (UTC)

I'm at a total loss...

I feel that the information we currently have about Kid Flash has to go somewhere... but I have no idea where! The Kid Flash page is just a disambig, and we don't know which of the Kid Flashes it actually will be (even if signs point to Wally). KramarDanIkabu (speak) 04:16, 14 October 2005 (UTC)

Theme Song

Isn't the alternative theme song in Japanese-accented Spanish rather than in Japanese? Dyfsunctional 20:52, 23 October 2005 (UTC)

No. --malber 13:04, 24 October 2005 (UTC)

Recurring Villains

I'm questioning the list of Major Recurring Villains. Slade is obvious. For the first two seasons he was in the majority of episodes and is definately Robin's nemisis. Brother Blood is questionable since he's only been in a few episodes and that story arc seems to have completed. I'd say Trigon is questionable too since that arc seems to have ended as well. However, if we include these, what about Mad Mod or Mumbo or Professor Chang. And what about Red X's status. Is he really villain, erstwhile hero, or rogue? --malber 16:25, 28 October 2005 (UTC)

  • I think what makes them 'major' is all three of those had their own epic plotlines devoted to them. As for Red X, since he appeared with the Brotherhood of Evil, I think we've got to label him as a villain for the time being. --InShaneee 17:27, 28 October 2005 (UTC)

Sam Register

It should be noted that Sam Register's views on the target audience aren't neccesarily shared by the writers. Sam Register believes that it was "never part of the plan" ([2]), while David Slack said "we were trying to make something everyone would like". I think to only put in Register's comments is simplifying things a bit too much, given the apparent conflict of interests. -SA-

The page you referenced does not support your comments about there being dissention in the ranks of the writers. Register is Executive Producer of the show and VP at Cartoon Network. Moreover, the quote is concurent with the Murakami quote on secret identities. Have you watched the show? It is unquestionably a kid's show. --malber 21:07, 8 November 2005 (UTC)

Minor/Episodic Villains

Just to make this page a little more manageable, I'd like to suggest we replace this section with the following text:

See Minor characters in Teen Titans (animated series)

Since this would lose some links (such as Plasmus), I also recommend adding links to those to a 'see also' section at the bottom of that page. --InShaneee 01:41, 14 November 2005 (UTC)

Support - And I think I said this awhile back above.--malber 03:43, 14 November 2005 (UTC)
Alright, since I don't see any opposition for the time being, I'm going to go ahead with it. In the meantime, any idea of a good way to refactor things so that the 'allies' section can be gotten rid of (in the same fashion) as well?--InShaneee 04:13, 21 November 2005 (UTC)
