I reworked the introduction paragraph and removed the following sentence. Found two sources that could be worked into the article. Listing them below.

Sentence: Ancient tamils also used muzhakkuchi (scale/tape) which is the basic measuring instrument to build a temple or other building. One of the temple which used muzhakkuchi is Tanjore Big Temple from Tamil Nadu, India.

First source is now dead. Second source is hardly relevant. A TOI article reference in the article is also more irrelevant than relevant. I've had all sorts of people quoting stuff from this page, particularly ""thaerthuggal"". -- Cpt.a.haddock (talk) 18:41, 26 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Transliterations[edit]

Please provide Tamil script text next to all terms, rather than just Roman/Latin. Tamil is the main script for the Tamil language and is better suited to the phonetic system of Tamil, so in many cases a Tamil script transliteration is needed to know how to properly transcribe the text in Latin. For transliterations, please use the ISO 15919 transcription. Other transliterations can be phonetically ambiguous or inconsistent. Last edited by: (talk) 00:40, 26 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
