The term "talking point" is a discussion-stimulator, a framed debate, and doens't have to be within US/Canadian electoral politics or TV appearances. This article could be expended to include the broader meaning of the term, not just the TV talkshow meaning. An An 04:49, 10 January 2006 (UTC)

Yes. The Chambers Dictionary defines it merely as "a matter of or for talk". Equinox (talk) 17:47, 4 November 2015 (UTC)

Disambiguation

Please be aware that you type "talking points" into the search engine you get not this page but a different page about "talking point memorandums" or something. Disambiguation or different redirect needed?

The mentioned memoranda are just memoranda of talking points, famously passed out within FOX News (and winked at in Oreilly's "Talking Points Memo" segments). It looks like the site you are referring to, here is a left-leaning site whose name is also based on these memoranda. Rifter0x0000 (talk) 19:44, 21 December 2009 (UTC)
