I have added Template:Japanese city and removed text from the body that was outdated or redundant with the template's fact table contents. I also replaced the header coordinates Template:CoorHeader with Template:Coor title dms, though with the coordinates in the fact table I'm not sure displaying them in the upper-right corner of the page too is very useful. I would like to redo the page body, adding translated content from the Japanese version of the page. -- D. Meyer 03:43, 5 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Starting to add information from JA page. In "Geography" section removing adjacent municipalities which has own section later, details on Takarazuka Review which belong on that page if anywhere, and reference to the defunct Takarazuka Familyland (its current incarnation will be referenced in the "Services" section). --D. Not sure what anyone needs a list of city schools for, but it was in the JA page so I've put them here, too, though in a slightly more compact format. Any suggestions on better alternatives to section names "Locality" and "Services"? --D. Meyer 18:06, 5 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Changes July 6, 2006[edit]

Added everything from the JA page up to and including the "Famous People" section. Concerning the author masa, I have not created a link on his name because 1) the page masa exists but covers an unrelated subject (a food); 2) the link on the JA page is redirected to the page for Masaaki Onishi, who is a stuntman and apparently not an author, so the link seems incorrect; 3) Amazon.co.jp lists only a single title for author masa and gives no biographical information to confirm whether he is from Takarazuka. (Does one book published qualify one as a famous son?) I have inquired on the JA talk page and will either add additional information I learn there or if none is forthcoming delete masa both here and on the JA page. --D. Concerning links, I am trying to put links in where there is an existing page either here on EN Wikipedia or on JA Wikipedia, or where there is a blank link in the original JA and the topic is of greater-than-local interest, deserving of its own Wikipedia page. Very subjective judgment: edit if you disagree. I am not committing myself to translate every linked page that doesn't already exit here, so feel free to look for red links and have a ball. --D. Changes July 9, 2006[edit]

Quite a bit of work tonight:

  • Added translations of info. from ja.WP, including updates to sections translated earlier. Everything translated now except "Transportation" section.
  • Footnote on 塚
  • Drew my own copy of the Takarazuka city emblem, uploaded, and referenced in the info. box.
  • Hacked Template:Japanese city to support city bird and emblem description, added the info. for Takarazuka.
  • Replaced the gallery with single pics spread among several sections, added links to some Commons pics that weren't in the gallery.
  • Changed section header "Services" to "Facilities". Will revisit all headers based on en.WP city template when translation complete.

On thing I'd like is a more detailed "Takarazuka's location" map for the infobox focused on Hyogo instead of all Japan. --Meyer 19:41, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Changes July 10, 2006[edit]

Filled in Transportation section. Translation of ja.WP page is now complete. I am removing stub status from the page. -- Meyer 03:10, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

塚 VS 塚 Kanji Question[edit]

Between Character "A" and Character "B" listed above, I don't see any display difference in the article itself. They all appear to be "B." The Japanese Wikipedia article also uses "B". Indeed, in typing this comment I notice that everytime I save "A" appears to change into "B." But if I go to the Unihan database online and enter the code given in the footnote, I can see "A." There's also a difference when Googling - using "A" returns about 41000 hits, using "B" returns over 6 million (number one being the official city site). Is there an available reference to show that Character "A" is the official character? --Do Not Talk About Feitclub (contributions) 21:08, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Takarazuka city hall General Affairs office pointed me to this page from the city newsletter of three years ago (Japanese): http://www.city.takarazuka.hyogo.jp/le_html/kouhou/k_pdf/160615/8.pdf
I'll look up the right format for working it into the footnote. --Meyer 09:15, 5 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Added the citation and link to the Japanese page. --Meyer 09:40, 5 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
