Reunion party[edit]

I've removed the stuff about the reunion party again. It really doesn't belong in an encyclopedia. Is this reasonable? 122.152.148.234 (talk) 04:01, 12 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That is perfectly reasonable. A reunion by the crew long since the ship has been scrapped has little to no encyclopedic value related to the ship itself. Possibly a short note about it could be added to the end of the "The end of Fairstar" section, but a ~2000 letter section on the reunion (containing some opinionated sentences that should be deleted anyway) is completely unnecessary. — Kjet (talk · contribs) 10:16, 12 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'd trim it down to a single line stating the fact; half a page of nostalgic merchandizing doesn't belong here but a brief mention - hey, someone does remember - will not hurt. NVO (talk) 19:06, 24 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I've cut it down to a couple of lines. I thought it was still somewhat important to include the information but it's now less verbose. Stooch 05:53, 01 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It seems to have expanded again.... I've trimmed it back down again. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 115.70.179.13 (talk) 10:11, 5 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed rename[edit]

I propose we rename this SS Fairstar, unless reliable sources exist that the "TSS" prefix was in common usage for the vessel during the vessel's career.
A general discussion on the use of "TSS" has been started at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Ships#TSS_prefix.
