Proposing merge from Sympodial to Sympodium[edit]

Sympodial is longer, but is the adjective describing Sympodium, which is a stub. I say we merge. --Nessie (talk) 16:05, 25 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Works with me. SEMMENDINGER (talk) 16:39, 25 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. SciberDoc (talk) 09:27, 18 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I started working to improve/merge into sympodium, but halfway through that effort changed my mind. The topic is usually around the adjective "sympodial", specifically "sympodial growth" rather than the noun. I made some changes to sympodial if you want to take a look![1]Hyperik talk 04:57, 8 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Hyperik: so you agree to the merge, just that the title should be sympodial and not sympodium? --Nessie (talk) 13:02, 8 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@NessieVL: Yes, sorry--I agree they should be merged, but that the title should be sympodial, sympodial growth, or sympodial branching. I don't have a strong preference, so just "sympodial" seems fine to me. See also monopodial. –Hyperik talk 14:43, 8 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Hyperik: looks like policy is to use the noun, according to Wikipedia:Article titles#nouns. --Nessie (talk) 01:32, 18 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@NessieVL: Sounds like a good policy to me; after a quick search of use of sympodial growth vs. branching, I think it would make most sense to move sympode+sympodial--->sympodial branching and monopodial--->monopodial branching. –Hyperik talk 12:43, 18 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Move and merge done. Klbrain (talk) 14:37, 20 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
