Requires a brutal edit[edit]

This version is indescribably poor. It reads like motherhood and apple pie stuff about a lovely little insurance broker. Much of it is unreferenced material which must be referenced or must go. I've made a start, but the text is so dreadfully cloyingly sweet that I gave up and peppered it with citation requests instead. It's almost as if the Swinton PR team has created it. Indeed a note left on my talk page, a note which will be archived into Archive 15 soon enough, tells me that this has been created at Swinton's behest and under their instructions. I do wish corporations would stop thinking of Wikipedia as being part of their own web presence. They need to read WP:OWN and WP:COI. Over the next few days I may attempt to dispose of the apple pie and motherhood and strip it back to plain, verified facts. Fiddle Faddle 17:28, 25 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I'll try to find time to look at this as well. I agree that it is currently blatantly promotional, and it seems that the COI editor has failed to read, or perhaps to comprehend, the COI policy and the promotional policy. Also WP:TONE would be beneficial. —    Bill W.    (Talk)  (Contrib)  — 19:54, 25 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Tim As I said yesterday, I am happy to collaborate with you and other editors to arrive at a correct and reliable entry.

Now that you have carried out, in your own words, your 'brutal edit,' I will do my best to find citations where you have tagged them.

Would you please also edit your warning message to reflect the fact you have deleted the passages which in your own words, constitute 'journalese' and the 'personal' account? Regards Andy — Preceding unsigned comment added by Andrew spinoza (talkcontribs) 17:48, 26 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps you should read the article history to see that I have deleted nothing. It seems to me that you need to read WP:COI carefully. As a COI editor you need to avoid this article if you are to enjoy editing Wikipedia. You will be unable to fulfil your PR brief from Swinton to make this article what they want. Would any existing contributors mind if I take the existing text into my Sandbox and give the page a much needed overhaul? — Preceding unsigned comment added by RedJulianG40 (talkcontribs) 13:38, 17 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I've begun the work on removing the Citation Required marks by inserting the correct links and correcting dates and factual information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by RedJulianG40 (talkcontribs) 16:27, 17 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Still written like a PR piece[edit]

The fact that the first premium cost £5 pounds as stated in previous edits removed, this amounts to somewhere between £100 and £120 in new money. Not outrageously different from what a car insurance premium might cost today. statement of £5 cost to appear twee. 46.208.119.149 (talk) 15:26, 11 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
