"Svelvik is an important harbour" No I don't think so. In fact you might say that there is almost no harbour in the sense that most people would recognize. There are two marinas in the town and several more in the rural parts of the kommune. There are several small quays between the fjord and Storgata and of course the ferry terminal. Very few commercial craft stop at Svelvik but there are substantial numbers of pleasure boats both resident and, in the summer, visiting.

Source: personal observation, I live in the town near the sea. Kjwhitefoot (talk) 10:06, 19 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Pronunciation[edit]

"Svelvik" is pronounced Svælvik with a thick "l" in the local area. Most residents in the rest of Vestfold will also pronounce it this way, as will most people in Drammen. I can understand why the audio file pronounces the name "Svelvik" due to neutrality, but I feel that the correct pronunciation should at least be mentioned in the article. 178.72.62.54 (talk) 15:45, 30 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
