The manor of Sutton-upon-Trent was sold to Sir Richard Levett, Lord Mayor of the city of London, and his wife Mary on 5 November 1686. The sale is recorded in the footnote already posted from the Catalog of the Denison Estate Papers in the Denison Collection, University of Nottingham. To wit: "Release, of lease and release, concerning manor of and lordship of Sutton-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire, from John Sherwin, Joseph Turpin and Rev. Peter Clarke to Sir Richard and Mary Levett; 11 May 1686." I have, accordingly, removed the fact citation tag. Regards,MarmadukePercy (talk) 02:24, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
