Parthenogenesis claim[edit]

This article states, "As only females are found in the United States, they reproduce by parthenogenesis there." Can someone substantiate this claim?24.22.141.252 (talk) 10:39, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've just done so myself,[1] though I'd still like an expert to take a look at this.
