surfbook.com[edit]

By this edit an anonymous editor removed the external link to the snapshot of www.surfbook.com held on web.archive.org, summarizing their edit as "removed wayback machine link to surfbook.com because that linked to a laptop like product and not a social media service". It is true about the product, but both the arstechnica.com site and NRC make clear that v/d Meer registered the surfbook.com domain and the link is to the latest snapshot of the site before v/d Meer's death, so it appears relevant even if it counter-intuitively contains information about a different product. Is there any reason this external link should not be restored? --Isthmus of Kra (talk) 01:00, 13 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

A link to a page by the same person but about not-this-article's-topic is not on-topic here. This is not a page about v/d Meer and the many aspects of him (a bio page), but a page about Surfbook itself. DMacks (talk) 02:05, 13 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Needs better sources[edit]

No contemporaneous sources cited; archive.org from 2003 for "surfbook.com" shows content unrelated to alleged social networking site. http://web.archive.org/web/20030331141949/http://surfbook.com/ Surfbook appears to have been laptop networking device. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:41D0:8:90CE:0:0:0:1 (talk) 04:28, 27 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
