Which Earth?[edit]

Legend[edit]

Would it be permissible for someone to reproduce the legend from the beginning of the issue here? DC Universee: The Stories of Alan Moore didn't include it. Lord Bodak 22:54, 9 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Its tricky one as I suspect it might raise some eyebrows about fair use and copyright. The ideal solution is to find it online and link to it. How about these: image and text? Trivia[edit]

The following trivia was deleted from the trivia section: "*In the Smallville episode "Drone" (Season 1, Episode 18), Clark Kent runs for student government president and uses "The Man of Tomorrow" as his tagline. It is a phrase suggested to him by Lex Luthor." Would it be permissible to inquire as to why this was deleted?

Bottom line is that all trivia has to be worked into the main section or deleted. See: WP:TRIVIA. So perhaps the person was starting a cleanup? You'd need to ask them. I have tagged the section now so it'd be best to work on reducing the section with an eye to removing it all together. (Emperor 01:29, 30 July 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Also, the use of the phrase "The Man of Tomorrow" to describe Superman was established well before this story was published. The use of it in Smallville was not a reference to this specific story. -- Pennyforth (talk) 19:01, 20 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Superman423.jpg[edit]

Image:Superman423.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. Translation[edit]

There was a banner on the page suggesting that the article could be expanded from the Portuguese article. I used a translation to work and expand it while adding references. I didn't change the plot as I don't have the story to reference, so left that alone. In the impact section, the Portuguese article had some negative views on it, but the links were dead so I couldn't add them here, so it should be expanded to find some of these views. 76.106.175.157 (talk) 08:08, 17 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

References in Other Media[edit]

Part 2 of the 2019 TV crossover event "Crisis on Infinite Earths" pays homage to the "Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow" story's ending. In the episode, characters from the CW Arrowverse arrive in the universe of the 'Smallville' TV show, in an attempt to prevent the Arrowverse version of Lex Luthor from killing the 'Smallville' version of Clark Kent. Lex is disappointed to discover that this Clark has voluntarily and permanently given up his powers in order to live a happy family life with Lois Lane. The scene features cameo appearances by Tom Welling and Erica Durance, who played Clark and Lois on Smallville, respectively.
