blazon[edit]

This appears to be a Slavic amateur's guess at the English blazon, and it's wrong; an increscent (waxing moon) would have the horns to dexter (viewer's left). But I don't know what to call this charge, which I haven't seen before. —Tamfang (talk) 06:23, 15 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Actually that comes from the source.Tobyc75 (talk) 11:05, 15 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

de.wiki gives the blazon In rot eine liegende gelbe Mondsichel. I guess liegende means lying down, and Mondsichel (moon-sickle) means crescent. I wonder, does German heraldry use the more abstract crescent? Can't recall an example offhand. —Tamfang (talk) 21:36, 10 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
