Proposed deletion[edit]

A few years ago, all the individual house articles, except Barrington and Cloyne, were merged into the USCA article because of the lack of individual notability.

I've tagged this article as proposed for deletion, due to insufficient notability of the subject. In general, specific dorms are not notable, unless they've received significant press coverage or been the subject of lengthier works. The sources in this article are all very basic information which establishes that Stebbins exists, but nothing beyond that. I've copied some of the more interesting and encyclopedic content to the Stebbins Hall section of the Berkeley Student Cooperative article, as it is useful there.

The "namesake" section might make a useful start for an article about Mrs. Stebbins.

I agree that the namesake section would be a good start for an article on Lucy Stebbins. Some of the detail on her doesn't really belong here, so I'll try to pare it down. I think this may have been the first women's cooperative in the United States, but I've yet to find a source that confirms it. Regardless, I believe that Stebbins Hall is notable both as a building and an institution. I've added some references, including the fact that Beverly Cleary was once a resident. I'm going to remove the prod and try to continue improving the article. Gobonobo T C 07:41, 25 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of sections and subsections[edit]

Almost half the page is un-cited hearsay. I was a resident of Stebbins from 2001 to 2002, the majority of described rituals were not present at the time I resided. Furthermore the statement at the top of the Annual/Semi Annual events is "Events change according to new social managers preferences", which runs counter to the name of the section. I am removing all of the cultural description and rituals that were not present at the time I was there, I will leave the ones I had experienced even though there are no sources cited. I will do some research into info that can be cited and will either add new info or undo previous deletions which can now be cited. Rybkovich (talk) 00:27, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
