Photos[edit]

Hi @Another Believer: I have photos of this statue, and I'd normally upload them to Commons, but since it's a new statue and there's no FOP in the US, I don't believe I can? Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 18:26, 23 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Mike Peel You can upload your preferred image under fair use. Here, you'll select "This is a copyrighted, non-free work, but I believe it is Fair Use", then "This is a depiction of a copyrighted three-dimensional work or building", then select the drop-down "Other 3-dimensional creative work". There are some other fields, too, but this is the general process. I hope this helps!, let me know if you have any questions. ---Another Believer (Talk) 18:54, 23 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Another Believer: Is there no other option than fair use? Otherwise, this is probably the best of the set of photos I took of it. Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 19:03, 23 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Mike Peel I'm afraid so, as far as I know, and to be in full compliance of copyright rules. ---Another Believer (Talk) 19:16, 23 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Mike Peel, that's a very good photograph, thanks. It brings the statue alive for readers of the page. Randy Kryn (talk) 05:05, 24 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
OK, uploaded to File:Statue of Sally Ride.jpg and added to the article. I uploaded the full resolution version, hopefully the bot will auto-resize it, and the full resolution version can be restored when the statue copyright eventually expires. Thanks.
