Plagiarism[edit]

The Did you know review for this article at Template:Did you know nominations/Stan Pitt found instances of plagiarism in the text. Specifically, the line "Stan's artwork was inspired by his idol, Alex Raymond, the Flash Gordon artist" was taken verbatim from [1], and "The brothers prepared high-quality bromides (black & white photoprints) of the sample art pages, which Stan hand-tinted using coloured inks." was taken from [2].
The first one has been altered somewhat but the second hasn't. Other lines appear to be very close to the sources as well. This needs to be taken care of immediately, as the issues were brought up well over a month ago.--Cúchullain t/c 13:44, 6 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The recent edits helped, but the duplication detector reveals there's still more plagiarism from both sources. This needs to be dealt with too.--Cúchullain t/c 13:27, 7 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Running the detector for the other sources also reveals plagiarism from here ([3]), and here ([4]). This is quite pervasive. I'm going to make a note on the copyright violations noticeboard.--Cúchullain t/c 13:38, 7 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
