Separate articles?[edit]

Shouldn't the island and the lighthouse have separate articles? It is the lighthouse on the NRHP list and not the island. Cheers, ⋙–Berean–Hunter—► ((⊕)) 15:22, 30 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There isn't enough information to have two articles. For precedent though, please see Alcatraz Island. Asher196 (talk) 17:49, 30 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

19th Century[edit]

Isn't true that St. Martin was briefly inhabited in the 19th century by a small community, primarily of fishermen? I believe there is actually a remnant of a cemetery on the island with a few graves. Dr. Dan (talk) 02:57, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know about any of that. But take a look here for cemetery information. 7&6=thirteen (talk) 03:27, 21 October 2009 (UTC) Stan[reply]
Thanks for the lead. I'd like to find out more about this community. I believe they were either of Irish or Scandinavian descent. Dr. Dan (talk) 14:20, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I am exploring ancestry. My great grandfather, Curtis Allen was born on this Island BIRTH 28 OCT 1888 • St. Martin, Delta Co., Michigan
DEATH 24 FEB 1976 • Kewaunee, Kewaunee, Wisconsin, USA. His father Reuben "Frank" Allen BIRTH 7 MAR 1856 • Garden Bay, Delta County, Michigan, USA was a fisherman on the island. Frank drown in a boating accident 22 NOV 1889 but I am understanding that he is buried on Washington Island where his wife and her second husband are buried. I noticed that Google Maps does show a cemetery on the island. I would be interested to know if this can be visited or if someone else has been able to document the graves there. Curtis Allen did have a younger brother Oswald that died in an accident at ~2 years old on the island BIRTH 1887, DEATH 15 JUL 1889 • Delta County, Michigan 2600:1702:38A0:AC60:71FB:862D:3CD7:D408 (talk) 20:29, 29 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Appropriate content?[edit]

I see two possible issues with this. First, this seems self published, so it isn't a very reliable source. Second, sources are used for referencing facts. What relevant facts were you going to reference with this source? --Muhandes (talk) 07:09, 8 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
