Stadium
Why do people keep putting Pacaembú as the Stadium of Corinthians in the flower box at the begining of the page?
Pacaembu, even though is not owned by Corinthians, is the stadium were it plays his home games. The reference footnote should be corrected. It says that Corinthians don't own a stadium, which is incorrect. Corinthians has a stadium called Alfredo Schürig, aka Fazendinha, but it is rather small for home games. To be honest, I would put more credibility on the Lance!/Ibope, since Ibope is a relativly respected pollester. Besides, the popular consent here in Brazil is that Flamengo is first, followed by Corinthians and then Sao Paulo.--Vertigo200 02:28, 11 May 2005 (UTC)
2005 title
The 2005 title has been all but decided in Corinthians's favour, but the matter still is in the courtrooms, as this link (specificacly the part called "Este honra as calças" and "Eis como é valente o presidente do Inter"] show that the matter has not been decided completly. Until a final legal decision or Leandro Konrad drops the matter, the title still is under judice, so we must keep it that way.--Vertigo200 17:41, 6 December 2005 (UTC)
That the Championship is sub judice, this is a fact. However, Internacional has not recognized Corinthians as Champions (Inter has even called FIFA into the matter). I suggest that, until no more lawsuits are pending or an agreement is reached, we report in Wikipedia the title as "sub judice" for both teams and not count it in any statistics. 201.34.87.254 11:46, 7 December 2005 (UTC)
The thing is, as can be seen here in the part called "Eis como é valente o presidente do Inter", the president of Internacional has stated publicly that they will not see any further challenge in the judicial system, which must mean they accept the decision officially, even if a person connected to the team (Mr. Leandro Konrad, who is a lawyer in a company who’s founder is a counselor in the Internacional board as can be seen in the "Novidade sobre Konflaz" part of the blog) continues the lawsuit. For that reason, that the team will not seek any further lawsuits officially, one can say that officially the team recognizes Corinthians as champions, even if they are "secretly" hoping for a favorable decision. --Vertigo200 14:41, 7 December 2005 (UTC)

CBF, before the Campeonato Brasileiro started, made it clear that would descassefy any squad that utilized the common justice to gain any priveleges on the championship. That's the case of Internacional. As the tournment had already ended, CBF couldn't do anything about it, but it's "sister", Conmebol, the South-American confederation said that Internacional would not be included on the Libertadores da America if continue with the law suit against CBF (It's known here in Brazil that this "Leandro Konrad Konfranz" is what they call an "orange", someone to take the blame).

Roster
I changed roster view from bullet points to table copied from portuguese wikipedia - has more info. I also kept the name convention common in Brazil of emphasizing a player's nickname within their legal name, I think it's more clear (player nicknames will occasionally change over time), but I don't know someone who only reads English would agree. There's also an attempt at a subsection to track recent player movement, not sure how well that will work - theoretically we could keep adding subsections (keeping most recent on top) for a complete history of roster wrt tournaments. About the roster, I think that keeping just the nickname (referencing a fullname entry on Wikipedia) is better. Brazilian players are refered by their nickname on European club's pages. This way, even if the player changes his nickname, there will be no difference, because the article have his fullname.

- I guess I consider the fact that nicknames change the primary reason for including the full name, it allows someone unfamiliar with the player moves to track them more easily. For the European clubs this isn't as much of a concern, as there are fewer Brazilians relative to each roster. Changing names and common usage of nicknames is why most Brazilian club roster include the full name, and I would expect would clear up potential confusion for someone less familiar with the sport. Ok, now it's ok to put Marcelinho as a transfered player. Yesterday, in the evening, he sighned the contract with the club. You've been putting his name as aquired player for a week now.

And you're right about the specific information about Marcelinho, that I've been putting by his name. My intention was to resume a little about this player, so the person who read, would know who we're dealing with. He's an idol among the team, so I just wanted to make that clear. All information about any subject is valid to be in an encyclopedia. If the championship of last year is there, then this years' should too. I agree on the daily news, so I'm not gonna do that, but I still think that current tournments should be listed and have the most information possible.
And if I have a bad english, that's not gonna stop me from correcting history mustakes, and adding important infromation about any subject that I know, and understand better than someone. The thing is that I was honest, and in the best interest of Wikipedia and it's users, I'd rether put my pride aside, and ask for help when I need. If you can elaborat texts, with the english mustakes you presented, I think I'm capable of doing the same.
One last thing. Sorry, but I have now idea what is "tilds", and how to use them. But if anyone is up to teach me, I'd apreciate it.

- 1) I've never said this year's championship shouldn't be here. I saying this is not a daily news website, but an encyclopedia. So you should wait until the championship is over, create an article if you want to, and then add every info on it.
2) If you're seeing so many mistakes in my texts, please, use your vast knowledge and feel free to correct them. But face it: you have lots of it. Tons actually. It's pretty hard to understand your texts. It seems you're using an online translator or something. Grammar mistakes, vocabulary mistakes, and so on... it'd take a lot of time to correct them, which is why I'm gonna pass.

Historic Players
I would like some help from the contributors to improve the quality of the Historic Players session. Some players like Dunga and Mascherano, for example, don't have the status of historic players of Corinthians. And in my POV, the session should focus more on what the players did for the club. World Cup titles and the team they currently play is already in their "personal pages".

- It is a controversial question, as indeed Corinthians won the World Club Cup in 2000 without winning the Copa Libertadores first. Because it is a very controversial question, this title should be listed in Corinthians article. Wikipedia is not the place to decide if Corinthians is or is not a World Champion. - It's not a controversial question. FIFA introduse rule about home team @CWC and accordingly this rule Corinthians became title winner. And they beat 1998 Libertadores Cup, 2000 Mercosur Cup winner and 2000 Brasilian champions, Vasco da Gama. So, there were two officialy best clubs in the world in 2000: Boca Juniors (Intercontinental Cup winner) and Corinthins. That's all. Stadium ownership and use
Axtschlag (talk) 20:12, 18 August 2011 (UTC) I watched the last correction, and I'm inclined to disagree. There's no use to misguide a foreign researcher in falsely believing that Pacaembú is somehow 'exclusive' of Corinthians use. It's a municipal funded and administrated stadium, used for many minor leagues beside São Paulo Championship and 'Brasileirão'. The Parque São Jorge is a fully functional and original stadium that actually belongs to the football team, and the Pacaembú stadium is also used by other teams than Corinthians, whenever there are issues with the team's stadium, or any arbitrary decision from the sport legal instances. It's also found further in the text, and it may confuse when there's not a specific description of the situation.
The association of the team with the stadium is a biased 'fan' view, and I believe it deeply distorts the information.
For a quick solution, it could be added, by the side tag, another categories, the "Mandatory Stadium" together with "Stadium" (ownership).
- I agree with your infobox suggestion and in the Portuguese-language Wikipedia they have both fields ("Mandatory Stadium" and "Stadium" (ownership)). You can suggest that in the template's talk page and/or in Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football. In the mean time, probably some note explaining which is the club's owned stadium and which stadium the club plays their home games would be great. Colours
It is mentioned in the article that the English side Corinthian FC wore pink and brown shirts. I think that may be the other team - Casuals FC, who in 1939 merged with Corinthian to form Corinthian-Casuals FC, who also play in pink and brown. However, Corinthian have always played in white with dark shorts, as do Corinthians Paulista, who adopted both their name and their colours. BigSteve (talk) 12:08, 24 February 2012 (UTC)

Can someone help me here? I'm not very good at this, and I just started to contribuit to Wikipedia. Not only my english is terrible, but I'm not that good on programing stuff. I put the information about the tournment till now, including the ranking.

I added a text about the Libertadores da América, just like I did with the Campeonato Paulista. Now it isn't there, and nothing counts on the history. What's going on?
Plus, I added some other information on the Campeonato Paulista, and that's not there too!!!

Coringão = Big Joker
I added a tranlation for "Coringão", which is "Big Joker"... "Coringa" is "joker" (from cards game) in English and with an "ão" ending means "Big Joker", one of Corithians' nicknames.
