Refs[edit]

I’m looking for an elementary reference for the slope definition(s). Help appreciated! Got a dozen articles on colours and spectral characteristics of TNO and Centaurs but they are unnecessarily technical for this stub. The definition of relative slope seems to come from Meech & Jewitt 86 [1] (at least this is the oldest I got) but it is given in the context of little relevance to this more general article. Thank you. Eurocommuter 14:54, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  1. ^ David Jewitt & Karin Meech Cometary Grain Scattering versus Wavelenght, or, "What color is comet dust?" The Astrophysical Journal, 310 (1986), pp. 937-952. [1]

Def inside the def ?[edit]

'The slope is typically expressed in percentage increase of reflectance (i.e. reflexivity) per unit of wavelength': what does 'i.e. reflexivity' mean ? that reflexivity is a percentage increase of reflectance ? or is an increase of reflectance ? Is 'reflexivity' appropriately used here ?
