The result of the move request was: both moved. Favonian (talk) 09:56, 4 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

– No evidence that the sailing term, or any other particular usage of "Spar", is the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC for the term. Theoldsparkle (talk) 20:24, 26 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • SupportSpar the sailing instrument certainly shouldn't be the primary topic the retailer is far more notable although I don't think their is a clear Primary therefore I support the move. ★☆ DUCKISJAMMMY☆★ 23:59, 26 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. Add precision that is obviously useful to help readers find what they're after. A clear benefit in doing that, and no measurable harm. A term with very many meanings, as this DAB page amply shows. NoeticaTea? 00:42, 27 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. The retailer and sparring are more notable topics. —  AjaxSmack  01:51, 27 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support I certainly think the "spar" of an airplane is more likely a topic than that of a sailing vessel in this day and age. 70.49.124.225 (talk) 05:47, 27 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. I was first thinking about the retailer, and it does seem that the retailer's article gets at least as many views as this one despite having a disambiguated title.[1][2] Jafeluv (talk) 09:19, 27 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support strongly. The only dab line-item that might be a default for Spar is Sparring, but frankly it makes more sense for the term to disambiguate. --→gab 24dot grab← 00:44, 4 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

SPAR offshore wind turbines[edit]

There seems some interest in these but not quite sure how or even whether they should be explicitly linked from the DAB.

They're a type of spar buoy and get some coverage here for example. Andrewa (talk) 15:33, 28 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
