Where is this article going?[edit]

It is not clear to me exactly what this article is about. If it just another name for Oceania, then a redirect might be more appropriate though I see there is already a disambiguation page South Sea. If it is going to be about the romantic (for want of a better word) view of the region as portrayed in literature and art, then that should be made clear in the lead. Attempting to Edit the article for clarity[edit]

Over the next few weeks I'm going to be doing some work to hopefully make this article more clear, or identify if this article should be redirected/merged with other articles on Wikipedia.
