How did it happen to be? when Malani was the Tui Nayau and on the other hand his brother Taliai was also the Tui Nayau. I could see a big conflicting report on this article, I want to ask whoever wrote this article please do your research properly.

Actually what is written is based on fact and supported with research- if you have issues with it please read A.C Reids Book- the Fruit of the Rewa, Of which Ratu Mara and Ratu Sukuna were both personal sources of the author. This is also corroborated by Hocart, an ethographer who collected oral history on Lakeba in the early 1900's in whcih he personally interviewed leading members of the Vatuwaqa and Matailakeba clan at the time. Furthermore, the story is also corroborated by oral family history. I dont see why youre so hyped up- whatever is on this site Ive included for Lau is backed with recorded data, ie its obvious youve never visited the archives or checked the Pacific collection at USP
David sorry I wont be adding more info specifically on the chiefs in Lau and its history, someone keeps adding information thats not backed up with secondary data and others dont know the diffrence between fact and fiction, or the need for objectivity even if it conflicts with oral history........... I think Ill focus more on the Lau islands and its details, its less problematic....cheers
