What?

Um... Citation? Cuz to me the song sounds like it's about...well, the sun.

Cocaine??

I don't quite understand the Cocaine addiction. The lyrics talk about counting to ten and waiting for the rising sun. Perhaps a mix-up with another song?

The video of this song indeed suggests cocaine addiction, although the song doesn't mention it. But lines like "the sun shines out of my hands" could also refer to somebody after taking drugs. I think that the song primarily is about a boxing-fight, and it is interesting to note that the chourus does actually stop at 9 (the first one at 4), as if the opponent gets up again! --quatzalcoatl 18:38, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

The song Sonne is not about a cocaine addiction. The video may show something of a drug addiction, but I saw gold dust, not angel dust (or whatever you kids call those drugs today =P ). I'm removing the sentence and people can discuss here if they think that it should be put back. The song is about a boxer, as it was written for a boxer. "The sun shines out of my hands" is referring to the blazing pain coming out from his fists to the opponent's face, not drugs. Ulgar 18:25, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

The song doesn't mention cocaine addiction, but you never know what exactly Rammstein means. It could exist on several levels, as all the other songs and would be Rammstein's style. But somebody should mention, that the video is fairly clear on the matter of drugs, although heroin is also seen (as she dies from an overdose of "gold" in a syringe) and the vid also seems a bit fetish, because the dwarfs are constantly punished. They indeed don't use actual cocane or heroin, but the way they use the gold seems undesputable, and i don't know of any other drug, that is snorted like cocaine. There is no point drawing interpretations from the song. Though your arguments make good sense we don't know what rammstein were thinking of and even then people are open to take alternatives views. By definition interpretations of creative works are speculation and as ever, we stick to certifiable fact, or in this case, quoted relevant opinion. In this case I would just describe the song and/or video, and only mention what it's 'about' if there's a qoute from a band member or someone. -Zepheriah 21:45, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

Error in Music Video Section

"Lady Snow-White (German "Schneewittchen") is played by the Russian soap actress Yulia Stepanova." is wrong. If you watch the Making of Sonne (on Lichspielhaus-DVD) you see, that Snow-White is actually played by a man! The IMDB entry for Rammstein: Lichtspielhaus has "Snow White - video 'Sonne'" listed as played by "Joulia Stepanova". I am sure they have the spelling different for Cyrillic vs English. Since I don't actually have a physical copy of the video I can't confirm that she is listed on that video, or why they show a guy playing the part. Why isn't the Adolf Hitler version of the song mentioned?

I think this is the Song which was used to make the other Song(new Lyrics, same tune used) "Hitler... Himmler... Rudolf...", and that song is actually more popular on the net than the original.[1] Someone should really add this. According to WHOM is this song more popular and more "significant" than Sonne? It is a rip off Rammstein by some band with less talent, certainly NOT Rammstein. It is not significant enough and has no place in this article.Scyldscefing (talk) 21:49, 25 January 2011 (UTC)

Lyrics description

I recommend to include brief story of lyrics/video content somewhere in article. I do not know German well, so I better not do this myself. Just this song has funny story about Snow White but this article does not tell much what this story is about. I think few more words are needed to be added about it.
