Removal of Gallery in Main Article in Favour of Commonscat[edit]

User:Poliocretes, may I please ask you why you felt it better to remove the photo gallery in the article in favour of "commonscat." What actually is "commonscat", if you can please tell us?Davidbena (talk) 17:59, 10 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I felt it better because Wikipedia thinks it better, and I happen to agree. To quote WP:GALLERY, "Wikipedia is not an image repository" - "The images in the gallery collectively must have encyclopedic value and add to the reader's understanding of the subject ... One rule of thumb to consider: if, due to its content, such a gallery would only lend itself to a title along the lines of "Gallery" or "Images of [insert article title]", as opposed to a more descriptive title, the gallery should either be revamped or moved to the Commons." A commonscat is a Wikipedia Commons category, such as I had created for this exact subject matter, and to which the little box appearing on the right (and in the article itself) links to. Merger proposal[edit]

I propose that Socoh (Shephelah) be merged into Sokho. I think that the content in the Socoh (Shephelah) article can easily be explained in the context of Sokho, and the Sokho article is of a reasonable size that the merging of Socoh (Shephelah) will not cause any problems as far as article size or undue weight is concerned.Davidbena (talk) 03:57, 8 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
