this says nothing about soil accidification through pestisides please add more information to this article —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.206.78.109 (talk) 12:09, 27 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Expert Required Tempate[edit]

Information required in this article on several key issues related to soil erosion:

  • Why is soil acidification a problem?
  • Where is it occuring?
  • What steps can be/are being taken to tackle this problem?
  • More detailed chemistry regarding cation exchange sites and the mechanism of soil acidification

Cleanup template might also be appropriate and section organisation is unclear. Useful references would also help. Potential candidate for a complete rewrite, although the lead section contains useful information Jebus989 19:21, 23 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Rewrite start[edit]

Not fully an expert but see ways to reorganize it. I'll make some notes here. GeeBee60 (talk) 17:23, 1 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This article can be furthered by adding steps on how we can mitigate soil acidification and what can be done to areas that are affected by soil acidification. Js1006 (talk) 03:56, 9 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Please notice that the alleged symptoms of acidification as discolourment of leaves are misleading - that will occur for a variaty of reasons also on alkaline soils, like lack of nutrients. It should be rephrased.
