U.S.-based[edit]

Looking at this, the Society appears to be an American organisation with a few overseas branches, not a global organisation as the article implies. This is also indicated by the fact that all its AGMs have been held in the US. Could the article be reworded to reflect this. You also have a Federation of European Neuroscience Societies and an International Behavioral Neuroscience Society Thanks AndrewRT(Talk) 22:32, 5 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for pointing that out. I have made an edit to the lead, indicating that it is based in the U.S. I'll point out, however, that a very large number of attendees at SfN meetings come from outside the U.S. (and one meeting was held in Canada), so it is accurate to describe it as having a global membership. --Tryptofish (talk) 22:53, 5 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
