Trumpet[edit]

The trumpet article mentions a slide trumpet similar to a slide trombone but for trumpets with valves isn't the slide just a tuning mechanism that is not moved while playing? --Gbleem 14:00, 15 September 2006 (UTC) The valve slides (especially the one at the 3rd valve) are used while playing, the big tuning slide is not. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.9.185.210 (talk) 16:11, 10 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
