Contradiction?[edit]

First sentence: "Situs solitus refers to the normal position of thoracic and abdominal organs."
Last sentence: "Isolated reversal of the heart with normally-patterned viscera otherwise is termed dextrocardia or situs solitus [italics mine]."

"this means that the heart is on the left"[edit]

I know that it is said that the heart is normally on the left side, but as far as I know (and looking at the picture confirms that), the heart really is more in the middle and only the heartbeat might be more detectable on the left side. Maybe someone with more anatomical knowledge might be able to explain what the medical standpoint is here. The heart is actually anchored at the center but normally it should "point" to the left. The left lung is smaller because of this.190.121.78.208 (talk) 06:08, 25 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
