Pronunciation[edit]

I've always heard the first vowel sound pronounced as [ə] (i.e., a schwa, the io sound in nation) rather than [ɪ] (i.e., the i in bid), as the article currently states. Should the pronunciation be [ʃɪˈneɪd] or [ʃəˈneɪd]? --Muchness 20:00, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Meaning[edit]

The name's meaning offered in this article is inconsistent with the Wikipedia entry for Siobhan, it's purported source of derivation. Someone knowledgeable in this area should look into this and make the name meanings consistent, or remove the claim of their common derivation.

I've just cleaned up that article. An editor recently added unsourced information that gave a completely different etymology. Thanks for bring this up.--Brianann MacAmhlaidh (talk) 06:00, 17 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Popular Culture[edit]

This article looks... well... messy. I'm not even sure how to go about editing it. It looks like two people had a disagreement? Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.222.103.179 (talk) 18:59, 23 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
