The article on the Japanese Wikipedia?[edit]

Commands and their switches?[edit]

Are these sections really necessary? They can easily be obtained by using commands such as shutdown /? or man shutdown. See WP:NOTHOWTO. --Glaesisvellir (talk) 21:49, 2 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What about 'SOFT' Shutdown[edit]

This article seems to be ONLY on hard shutdown. I strongly suggest that SOFT Shutdown and perhaps Hibernation be added. The soft mode is probably the most common mode nowdays. This is related to a question on the computing reference desk, where we found ther was virtually no Wikipedia info on soft Shutdown. --220.101.28.25 (talk) 22:18, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Shutdown vs shut down[edit]

Shutdown is a noun, shut down is a verb. I think the title of the article should perhaps be changed to shut down, since that seems to be the main topic of the article. Hence the lead starting off with "To shut down or power off a computer..." (come to think of it, i think maybe there should be a comma after the word computer in that sentence, bu IDK :P). Also, perhaps this distinction should be mentioned as part of the article itself... Yaakovaryeh (talk) 01:46, 15 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed merge with Shutdown.exe[edit]

The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
The result of this discussion was to merge. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 05:39, 26 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The current state of the shutdown.exe page clearly reads like a MANUAL, which the page should not be. ««« SOME GADGET GEEK »»» (talk) 20:11, 19 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

What would be the best way to improve this page? I also added the file path to the command. If we were to merge the page how should I do so?Beastly334 (talk) 20:55, 19 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

As per WP:MERGEPROP, let's wait for someone else to respond. We'll look into it after about a week or so. ««« SOME GADGET GEEK »»» (talk) 22:02, 19 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your feedback. As a class project we are editing wikipedia pages so I am really new to this. If you have any advice I would be happy to hear.Beastly334 (talk) 15:30, 21 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
