I think someone on here edited the page according to the guidelines for a show hunter in the UK. Apparently, there are some great differences (for example, the tail is banged in the UK, and not banged in the US, the braids are different, I imagine the judging is different as well). It would be best if you mentioned that some of these descriptions are for horses in the UK, or if you had a separate section of the article for the show hunter of the UK. The original article is referring specifically for the show hunter of the US.

Show hunters in UK[edit]

I don't think this information applies to show hunters in the UK - they don't jump there either! Working hunters jump but not show hunters. Here's some better information: http://www.theshowring.co.uk/hunters.php —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Baxters (talkcontribs) 18:30, 11 December 2006 (UTC).[reply]

In the USA, "regular workingg hunter" and "green working hunter" etc are all divisions of the show hunter world. If you want to put in a proper reference indicating that the over fences material refers to competitions in the United States, and then add a section about the use of the term "show hunter" in the UK, that would be enlightening and helpful. Merge with...?[edit]

The field hunter article is basically a stub. I am wondering if it could be merged with this one and both renamed into a new article on hunters in general? Seems to be more suitable for one larger article here rather than a bunch of stubs that no one ever knows about. International Hunter[edit]

IS supposed??? to be a show hunter that performs over an outside the ring jumping course similar to the hunt field. Where are these classes held and what are the judging criteria of this discipline/division? 75.117.70.136 (talk) 17:46, 17 October 2008 (UTC)Gretchen Verbonic theverbonic@aol.com[reply]
