Shlomo KaraiShlomo Karahi – Perhaps the name of this article would be Shlomo Karahi, because of the letter ע (Ayin) in "קרעי". On Facebook he called "shlomo karhi". ידידיהצבאן (talk) 09:57, 14 April 2019 (UTC)--Relisted. – Ammarpad (talk) 18:48, 21 April 2019 (UTC)--Relisting. DannyS712 (talk) 23:47, 4 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose "Karahi" The only use of this spelling is this suggestion on Wikipedia. Google News has more hits for "Karai" versus "Karhi" (51 vs 32), but official sources like his Facebook page and Bar-Ilan University profile use Karhi, so I wouldn't be opposed to that. However, I would be interested to know how this transliteration came about, as I've never seen ayin become an "h" before (it's usually an a or e, sometimes combined with a glottal stop). You're right, so be It. I will note that Google has 2,520 results for Shlomo Karhi compared to 132 results for Shlomo Karai. ידידיהצבאן (talk) 19:50, 14 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Clarification: I meant that it is a good idea to change the article name to "Karhi".
A Few Explanation: See - Modern Hebrew#Pronunciation. In that case, he is from a Sephardi Jew family, and his name is originally an Arab name, so maybe he tried to save part of the correct pronountion in the transliteration. 19:59, 17 April 2019 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by ידידיהצבאן (talkcontribs)
  • Rename to Shlomo Karhi - He publishes his papers as Karhi (Google Scholar), the Knesset website is Karhi (link), his Facebook page is Karhi (link) etc. DGtal (talk) 12:12, 1 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • information Note: I have  Relisted this RM - discussion about potentially moving to Shlomo Karhi would be helpful. --DannyS712 (talk) 23:47, 4 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
