Merge[edit]

I don't think a merge is a good idea. This article talks about the municipality, and, if it were replaced with an article focussed on the World Heritage site, it would be the only municipality in Japan without an article. The other merge (Gokayama) seems acceptable, because it is not an official municipality (only an area of Nanto, Toyama). —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Neier (talkcontribs) 22:59, 11 February 2007 (UTC).[reply]

  • I agree. As this merge notice has been up some time, and there has been no support for the merge on the talk page, I removed the merge notice. -Aknorals 21:04, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What happened to the reference to Hinamizawa(Higurashi.)?[edit]

And that other place? Shouldn't it be mentioned in the article? 98.14.15.12 (talk) 18:45, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Distance to Takayama[edit]

Although Shirakawa is in Gifu Prefecture, it takes around three hours to get there by car from Takayama, Gifu,

I believe this section could either be omitted or revised as it takes around 50 minutes to drive from Takayama to Shirakawa since the opening of Hida tunnel, part of the [Tōkai-Hokuriku Expressway]. I went to the village twice, once in 2016 and another on feb 2018 and it only took us around 50-60 minutes
