Contested deletion[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because article about the Bashkir writer, one of the participants in the movement that created the first national autonomy of the Russian Empire - the Bashkir ASSR. Articles about Babich is in Russian, Bashkir, Tatar and Kazakh Wikipedia. --Ayratayrat (talk) 19:04, 15 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

As the reviewing admin for speedy deletion, I disagree that this article clearly meets A7 criteria. I am not familiar with eastern poetry and can't evaluate the subject's importance, but articles on four foreign languages Wikipedias and the obvious work that has been put into this article is enough for me to decline speedy deletion. Maybe too many poem titles[edit]

I love the format of the page and the idea of giving the title of some of the poem, but there are way too many. Maybe it would be more useful to give only the ten most known poems, the notable ones, or the ones that have been studied and considered for posterity. It serves no purpose to name all that title, no one will read the individual title. The two poems translated at the end of the page are a lot more intersting to read. The reader don't need to know all the titles, he can look for the book if he wants more. I'm not an expert enough to choose which ones should stay, so if someone had an idea, it would be great. Can someone clarify which of these forms is (are) the correct "English" representation of this man's name?

Shaikhzada Babich (title) vs. Babich Shaikhzada (infobox image caption)
Shaikhzada Muhametzakirovich Babich (first sentence) vs. Babich Shaikhzada Muhametzakirovich (infobox headline)

I assume the second of each pair should be changed to the first…? - dcljr

- The correct one is the first one, Babich is his surname (Shaikhzada his first name, Muhametzakirovich his patronym). The original text was obviously a translation, and I think the confusion comes from the fact that in russian you can put the surname first, then the first name, and finnally the patronym. So yeah, Shaikhzada Muhametzakirovich Babich/Shaikhzada Babich is the good option.Socerb102 (talk) 19:43, 24 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
