Correct name[edit]

Semen Korsakov is the proper name for this article per the WP:RUS guidelines "use conventional names". He is known in English as Semen Korsakov. The proper romanization (not transliteration) of the name is given in the article as the guidelines state and there is a redirect from that name. Gr8white (talk) 03:06, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Per WP:RUS guidelines which state "When spelling is selected based on one of these criteria, it must be documented on the article's talk page" the spelling of this article's title is based on the spelling predominantly used in English-language publications. I found the spelling used in this article clearly predominates in both publications referencing his work as an inventor and as a homeopath.

An example of the former is

Trogemann, Georg; Ernst, Wolfgang and Nitussov, Alexander, Computing in Russia: The History of Computer Devices and Information Technology Revealed (pp 47-49), Verlag, 2001. Translated by Alexander Y. Nitussov.

and of the latter

"Semen Korsakov: The Predecessor of Computerised Homeopathy", Homeopathic Horizon Vol. 1 No. 1 (homeorizon.com)

I could find no evidence of the use of the romanized variant "Semyon" in any English-language publication. Gr8white (talk) 23:29, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
