This article fails to acknowledge the English and British anti-Catholic bigotry and persecution.[edit]

The article states what the parliament would’ve wanted it to describe. It fails to put into context England’s and Scotland’s anti-Catholicism including its treatment of Ireland. The article should at minimum acknowledge that the crown and government at this time persecuted and abused Catholics and that even today the monarch in Britain cannot be a Catholic which violates the modern norm among Western nations that freedom of religion is a fundamental right.
