'Education'[edit]

I love the way no mention of Education, league tables or anything traditional school related is included, standards must be as bad as always then. Great advert, I'm sure this must breach wikipedia standards for blatant self promotion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.18.208.116 (talk) 12:15, 16 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Can you please tell me how I can get a link and business description on your website? My site is - http://www.sedberghbooks.co.uk —Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.206.42.235 (talk) 09:40, 16 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

'School Song'[edit]

50 ago, as a new boy, I had to learn 3 'school songs'. 'Winder' (described in the article), was one; 'The Long run', mentioned in the article, was another; the third was called either 'Floreat Sedberghia' or 'Floruit, floreat' (my memory can't be sure), which was sung at the end of the school year. (The Latin title (~ 'May Sedbergh flourish') and a refrain which changed subtly from 'Floruit Sedberghia' (~ 'Sedbergh flourished') as the song told the history of the school to 'Floreat Sedberghia' at the end were the only Latin words in the song. All, or virtually all, boys learnt some Latin in those days, so the change of refrain could be signalled by

Now ye who have this understood
floruit sedberghia
Will please to change the tense and mood
floreat sedberghia

I don't want to introduce outdated material into th e article, and I cannot tell the current state of affairs in the school. One logical error should be corrected: it says a propos of the Wilson Run that the song at the W. R. Concert is "The Long Run" (as it used to be, and as logic suggests it should); a propos 'School Song', i says "Winder" is sung there. This shuld be sorted by a current inmate.

copied text[edit]

I have removed most of the "History of the School" section that was copied from the school website. Anyone who has the time should feel free to build it up again using that as a source, but proper citation and paraphrasing must be used (see Wikipedia:Copyright violations and Wikipedia:Plagiarism).
