Baschi[edit]

The article claims that "Baschi" was a German variant of the name Sebastian. Being German, I've never heard this variant before. According to this site it's merely used in some regional dialects. Definitely not an all-German phenomenon. "Basti", however, which is listed as an English variant, is very common in Germany too.
