Controversies

I have removed the section on controversies, as it was lengthy and unnecessary. If the White Party/Washington Post incident is going to be included on Scripps' wikipedia page, it should be described *briefly* and we should link to the Washington Post blog. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.108.170.249 (talk) 09:51, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

It was lengthy, yes, but included all points of view- wood, ascmc, national media. Linking up to the wp blog is biased since readers don't know what the letter was about. I am reverting your edit and will recheck external links. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.162.99.155 (talk) 14:44, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

That controversies section is not appropriate for an encyclopedia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.17.246.105 (talk) 23:07, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

Unreferenced

I'm interested in removing the "Unreferenced" tag on the article because I think it was added due to the uncited "Controversies" section, which has since been removed. Is it appropriate to do this? —Preceding unsigned comment added by LeopardSpots89 (talkcontribs) 18:02, 13 February 2009 (UTC)

Grace Scripps Clark Hall

Although the College administration and, perhaps, the Clark family insist that Grace Scripps Clark Hall be referred to as "Clark" if it must be mentioned colloquially, most students at the time that I was a student there (2000-04) referred to the residence hall as "Grace". Perhaps this has changed (I hope not), but to deny that there is an "unofficial" name out there by which alumnae universally call this building is denying part of Scripps' history. Cleaning up this article and copyright concerns...

Maybe it's just me, but this article is a mess. A hot mess. There is little sourcing, rampant promotional material, and already 2 conflict of interest cases. We need to aim to raise the quality of this article from a C to a B at the very least. And the copyright infringement is also of paramount importance. Let's work on this together shall we? - Lacmaboingo (talk) 06:00, 12 July 2015 (UTC)

Further COI editing / my COI disclosure

I currently attend Scripps College, and am well-versed in Wikipedia policy. If anyone sees COI editing from some well-meaning, new editors who are associated with Scripps, please don't hesitate to notify me on my talk page, since I check it more than my talk page. I will see if I can take appropriate steps (perhaps by email) so I can stop them from adding content that is to the detriment of WP's policy and the article itself. At some point, I will see if I can gather the time to clean this up and remove the awful promotional content... — kikichugirl oh hello! 07:10, 14 December 2015 (UTC)

Universities central at Women in Red on IWD during March 2017

Info and invitation to Scripps. Women in Red has a drive during March to create and improve articles on women alumni of universities. International Women's Day is on March 8th and we invite others to mirror the event in the UK in Cambridge. Please sign up or ask for help at Women in Red. Hope you can make it. We have tools that will allow you to find missing women alumni from any other university. We are interested in editors who want to work in any language.
